Celavie Laboratoire Signs MOU with GelEntroCeutics to Use Its Patented Enteric Softgel Technology

Toronto, Canada – GelEntroCeutics Inc. is pleased to announce that Celavie Laboratoire Corporation, a Canadian natural health products company based in North York, Ontario, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, effective September 24, 2026, to apply GelEntroCeutics’ patented, intrinsically acid-resistant enteric softgel technology to selected Celavie products. The technology is protected by Canadian Patent No. 3,119,012, “Formulation of Intrinsically Acid-Resistant Vegetarian-Based and Gelatin-Based Soft Gel Capsules for Pharmaceutical/Nutraceutical Products,” granted on October 17, 2023 and owned by GelEntroCeutics. Instead of relying on a separate enteric coating, the softgel shell itself is formulated to resist stomach acid, so the capsule can pass through the stomach and release its contents in the intestine – an approach well suited to acid-sensitive and gastro-irritant ingredients and to oils such as omega-3 (DHA) and peppermint, where aftertaste and gastric discomfort matter to consumers. Under the collaboration, GelEntroCeutics will provide technical know-how, formulation guidance, process support and scale-up assistance, while Celavie will manufacture, market and commercialize the agreed products in Canada and, subject to applicable approvals, in international markets. The first products covered are Celavie’s Health Canada–licensed Celloré® DHA 300, Celloré® DHA 500 and Celloré® Peppermint/Caraway, with more products possible by mutual agreement; ownership of the patent and the underlying technology remains with GelEntroCeutics. This agreement shows how brands can upgrade their existing formulas with proven, patent-protected gastro-resistant softgel performance – and GelEntroCeutics is now welcoming similar collaborations with pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and natural health product companies in Canada and abroad. If you want your products to benefit from patented enteric softgel technology, contact our team today to discuss a technology collaboration or licensing agreement.
