Professor Kobarfard’s research career began with a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, USA in 2001. He then joined Shahid Beheshti School of Pharmacy in Iran, where he managed to become a full professor of Medicinal Chemistry and established Phytochemistry Research Center and Central Research Laboratory within Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. Farzad has published over 250 research articles, and given more than 100 invited lectures. He is on the Editorial Boards of 2 scientific journals at the present time.
During his academic career Farzad had many productive joint projects with pharmaceutical companies and he has been the inventors of many innovative formulations.
Farzad has served as technical director in charge of research, product development, and quality control at a few pharmaceutical companies in Iran. He later founded GelEntroCeutics, overseeing its technical department. In his 30 years in the academia and industry, Farzad has developed tens of nutritional/pharmaceutical products and formulations.
